Who we are

Elena

Elena

She grew up here and knows every corner of Poggio al Bosco. She carries on the passion of great-grandfather Giovanni by combining tradition and innovation. She will be able to answer all your questions and, by telling you unknown details about the wines, she will help you find the perfect bottle. Sangiovese flows in her blood, but her favourite wine is Crepuscolo.

Ester

Ester

Sunny and funny, she always has a smile on her face. She loves nature and countryside: she will guide you on wine tastings and post everything on social media. As a true gourmand, she can’t have breakfast without some of our pistachio Poggiolata spread on bread. She loves our Estroverso, which she always brings to the happy hour with her friends.

Elena

Stefano

He is our oenologist, he takes care of all the most important work in the vineyard and is the king of the cellar. Observant, quiet and very professional, if you ask him a technical question he will answer in such detail that you will be amazed. He has a weakness for Crepuscolo and can’t do without bruschetta with our just pressed evo oil that we call “olio novo”.

Lorisse

Lorisse

He is the true character of the winery, the typical farmer who speaks only Florentine language. He is now retired, he may still appear sleepy after the nap, but it may happen that you see him pass on the tractor and, in case, he will surely stop by you to tell you a joke. His motto? “The best wine is the one you like!”.

Maria

Nonna Maria

She arrived here in the 1960s with her husband’s family and was one of the first women to get a driving license and drive a tractor. She has been the kitchen queen for many years, but now she has passed the baton. During the tasting, you will certainly see her snooping through her window.  For her, a glass of Estroverso can never be missing on the table.

About us

When you visit Poggio al Bosco, not only do you learn about the older but returning unique use of concrete fermentation which this winery never deviated from. The wines were superb. Some of the finest whites and roses in Tuscany (of course the Tuscans reds rule). The tasting and tour is a true family experience and the father is still the wine maker. They make you part of their family. Oh did I mention the fine olive oils?

Anthony C.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our tour and wine tasting with Elena. We found the food and wine pairings so interesting and thought the wines and olive oil were delicious. I highly recommend spending a few hours at this lovely family run vineyard in the very friendly and knowledgeable hands of Elena.

Sally R.

This was a highlight of our Tuscany trip. This small family run winery produces amazing wine and olive oil. We bought both and were able to ship the wine back home!

Janine D.

The wine and olive oil were great and the property was beautiful. We would definitely come back again and recommend to anyone. This is a small boutique winery - the personal experience is so nice compared to a commercial winery. We had a great experience!
